Hello, my name is Leah Schmidt, and my camp name is Camper. I am a new missionary in the role of Food Service Manager and Head Cook. Along with my husband and two children, we are very excited to call Maple Springs our new home! This camp is new to me, although Bible camps are not. I grew up in Ontario, and every summer from age one to twenty I looked forward to camp. I have always loved outdoor adventures, and I feel God's presence most in His creation. This love led me to pursue a diploma in Outdoor Leadership at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford. My husband and I moved to Kelowna eleven years ago. I have worked in childcare at my church, worked as a nanny, done in-home senior care and spent three summers at another local camp in several food service roles. I believe bringing together a great team to serve quality food (with fun treats!) will enhance a fantastic summer. I look forward to using my skills and passions to serve God in His mission and the ministry of Maple Springs Bible Camp.
